Great Orion also named Messier 42

This picture is important to me. That’s my first shot I’m kind of proud of. Messier 42 is a winter nebula but March was a good month to catch it.

The night was a good one. Weather was great, my friendly wiId animals were there (three foxes turning around and approaching fast … they were curious. My red light was catching their pairs of eyes). I got my cooled camera, the reducer 0,63 and my successive shots were coming in pretty good. I got a bit too many pinky shots, but sorting the pictures gave me this final stacked picture. Stars are round, the core is a bit saturated but getting these details of gases at the edge of the frame was so satisfying.

To ensure good focus, I must mention that my Astro club helped me a lot when they asked me about the Bathinov mask. I used my paper mask and got a pretty good focus so a big thank you to the members of the academy.

I had to sort my shots manually (as I explained about it on the Wedge post), and from the 100 shots I selected only 45 of them.

This is my first dedicated picture so please don’t spread as mentioned in the “About It”
